These terms govern the use of scubaprofessor.com and the booking of training, tours, and services from THE SCUBA PROFESSOR, LLC
By using this site or booking training, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not book.
1. Who may book
You must be at least 18 to book training for yourself. A parent or legal guardian must book on behalf of anyone under 18 and must sign all required forms.
Minimum ages vary by course and by training agency. Youth certifications carry depth and supervision restrictions set by the agency, not by The Scuba Professor.
2. Booking and payment
- A booking is confirmed only when payment or a deposit has been received and dates have been agreed in writing.
- Prices quoted are for the services described in the quote. Site entry fees, park fees, boat charters, travel beyond the stated area, agency materials, and certification card fees may be additional and will be identified before booking.
3. Cancellation, rescheduling, and refunds

Rescheduling. Training is scheduled privately, so a canceled session is time that cannot be resold at short notice. Rescheduling requests made with [X]
days notice will be accommodated where possible at no charge.
Cancellation by The Scuba Professor. Training may be canceled or postponed for weather, water conditions, site closures, equipment failure, illness, or any circumstance that makes the session unsafe. In those cases you will be offered a rescheduled date or a refund for the affected portion.
Partially completed courses. Where a course is started but not finished,
Agency materials and eLearning. Once agency materials or online learning access have been issued, those costs are non-refundable, because they cannot be returned.
4. Medical fitness
Scuba diving places physical demands on the body. Before any in-water training you must complete the medical questionnaire required by the training agency, honestly and in full.
Certain answers require written clearance from a physician before you can enter the water. Obtaining that clearance is your responsibility and at your cost.
Failure to disclose a relevant medical condition may result in training being stopped without refund, and may affect insurance coverage.
5. Assumption of risk
Scuba diving and related activities involve inherent risks, including risks of serious injury, illness, and death. Those risks cannot be eliminated by instruction, equipment, or supervision.
Before entering the water you will be required to read and sign the liability release, assumption of risk, and medical statement forms required by the relevant training agency. Those signed documents, not this page, are the operative agreements regarding risk and liability. Nothing here replaces or limits them.
If you are unwilling to sign those forms, training cannot proceed.
6. Certification is not guaranteed
Payment purchases instruction, supervision, and assessment. It does not purchase a certification.
Certification is issued only when you demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by the training agency's standards, to the instructor's judgment. Students who need additional sessions to meet the standard may be offered them, at .
No refund is due on the basis that a certification was not achieved.
7. Prerequisites
Some courses require prior certification, a minimum number of logged dives, a minimum age, or current first aid and CPR training. You are responsible for holding and evidencing those prerequisites.
If a prerequisite is found to be missing on the day, the session may be postponed and the cancellation terms in Section 3 apply.
8. Conduct and the right to stop training
Training may be paused or ended, without refund, if a student:
- Is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Refuses to follow a safety instruction
- Behaves in a way that endangers themselves, another student, the instructor, or a third party
- Has misrepresented their medical status, experience, or certification history
Safety decisions made by the instructor in or near the water are final.
9. Equipment
Where equipment is provided, it remains the property of The Scuba Professor and must be returned in the condition it was issued, allowing for normal wear. You are responsible for loss or damage caused by misuse or negligence.
If you use your own equipment, it must be serviceable and appropriate for the training. Equipment judged unsafe will not be permitted in the water.
10. Dive sites and third parties
Training takes place at springs, parks, and other sites operated by third parties. Those operators set their own entry fees, rules, opening times, and conditions of access, and can close or restrict access without notice.
The Scuba Professor is not responsible for the acts, omissions, pricing, or closures of third-party sites, boat operators, resorts, or travel providers.
11. Weather and conditions
Sessions may be moved or shortened due to weather, visibility, water conditions, or site closure. Safety, not schedule, determines whether a dive goes ahead.
12. Travel and dive trips
Where travel or trips are arranged, separate terms may apply, including the terms of the airline, resort, charter operator, or travel provider. Travel insurance and dive accident insurance are strongly recommended and are your responsibility to arrange.
13. Photographs and video
Photographs or video may be taken during training. If you do not want images of yourself or your child used publicly, tell the instructor in writing before the session and they will not be. Consent can be withdrawn at any time for future use.
14. Website content
The text, images, course descriptions, and other material on scubaprofessor.com are owned by The Scuba Professor or used with permission. They may not be copied, republished, or used commercially without written consent.
Training agency names and logos are the property of their respective owners.
15. Accuracy of information
Reasonable care is taken to keep the site accurate, but course details, prices, availability, and site conditions change. Nothing on this website is a binding offer. A quote provided directly is what governs a booking.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
The website is provided as is. No warranty is given that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or free of harmful components.
Information on this site is general and does not replace formal instruction, agency standards, or medical advice.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Florida law, and separate from the agency liability release described in Section 5, liability arising from use of this website is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question.
Nothing in these terms attempts to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in

19. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The version in force at the time of your booking is the version that applies to it.
